We take great pleasure in making your trip the most enjoyable experience possible. Since Lake Erie is considered the walleye capital of the world we have no doubt you will have an action packed and exciting day of Lake Erie walleye fishing. Lake Erie charter fishing consists of more than just great walleye fishing. Lake Erie perch fishing is also excellent in late summer and into fall.
Being a full time Lake Erie fishing charter in Ohio we are fishing seven days a week. This allows us to stay on the fish and always know where they are.
Our season starts in the Western Basin of Lake Erie. This is where the walleye begin their natural migration for the season. They start spawning in the spring between the Lake Erie Islands and Toledo. While in Port Clinton / Marblehead our fishing charters consist of drifting while casting hair jigs and worm harnesses over the many reefs available .The very start of the season we will be slow trolling, which will give you a good chance of catching trophy walleye
As the water in the Western Basin warms up at the end of May and beginning of June the walleye will move east toward the Central Basin of Lake Erie. At this time we will move back to our main harbor at River Marine in Ashtabula. Here we will start trolling for the walleye from June through September, or as long as they stay in the area due to water temperature. On walleye fishing charters in the Central Basin we will usually be catching a larger class of walleye and will also have the chance of catching steelhead trout.
At T&V Charters we do not want you to feel like you are just a stranger along for the ride. We want you to totally enjoy your Lake Erie fishing charter. If you like, we will teach you the best techniques and how to set the gear so you can be involved with the whole process and have the best experience possible. If you would rather just sit back and relax, that is ok too. We will do everything we can to make your trip an enjoyable one so you will come back and spend another great day of Lake Erie charter fishing with Captains Tim and Vicki at T&V Charters.
Captain Tim has been fishing on Lake Erie most of his life, learning from his grandfather and charter fishing for more than 20 years. He enjoys passing on his knowledge to everyone fishing with him.
